About the museum
The Museo de la Cerámica of Lucainena de las Torres opened to the public in summer 2014. It also works as an exhibition centre and is located in the town centre, near the Poyo de la Cruz lookout and the church of Nuestra Señora de Montesión.
The collection originates from donations by María Teresa Esteban Cortes, a former resident of the village, who gave the municipality the pieces now on display. The collection brings together some 270 ceramic works from many places around the world and includes works by local artists.
The museum adds to the cultural offer of an Almería village known for its mining heritage, its calcination kilns and its well-kept floral surroundings.
