About the museum
The museum brings together remains related to the history of Fuengirola, mainly from the sites of Cerro de Suel, the castle and the Finca del Secretario. It opened in 2003 in the former house of the official veterinarian, on the Plaza de España. More recent information places it, under the name Museo de la Ciudad, on the calle María Josefa Llarrucea.
The collection is divided into two sections. The ancient history section includes Phoenician, Roman and Arab pieces; the ethnographic section shows objects from traditional fishing, crafts and farm work.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
