About the museum
The Museo Etnográfico Las Vistillas is a cultural complex on an estate on the outskirts of Coín, in the Guadalhorce valley. It brings together a pottery workshop, the ethnographic museum, a viewpoint and a vegetable garden, and is devoted to the town's rural life during the 20th century.
The museum is arranged in several rooms and in the outdoor spaces of the estate. The Antonio Vargas Franco room recreates the interior of a dwelling with furniture, documents, photographs and everyday objects, while La Fragua displays a forge with tools and implements for farming and for transport with animals. Another room brings together photographs of Coín and a collection of stuffed native birds.
The pottery workshop presents the traditional earthenware of Coín, documented since 1700, with pieces recovered since 1989. Outside there is a viewpoint with Mediterranean vegetation and a small area with domestic animals.
