About the museum
The museum occupies the Torre del Reloj (Clock Tower) of Palenzuela Town Hall, which was a large fortified gate of the town's second walled enclosure, probably built in the 14th century. Over time other buildings came to surround it, and it served as a municipal jail, housing and a warehouse.
The tower was restored to house original materials from different periods, loaned by the Town Council, the parish, the Museo de Palencia and residents of the town. The museum opened in 2012 and is run by volunteers.
