About the museum
The Museo del Dibujo was created by the clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist Ignacio Martín Cuadrado, also known as a draughtsman and poet, in the family farmhouse of El Real in Vera. He moved into a visitable space the works he had gathered in his small studio: almost 400 pieces made by him, by his family and by various Spanish artists. To do so he restored the old stables, which keep their structure and have been painted in the area’s traditional blue.
The route has several rooms. The first brings together works by artists from the 18th to the 21st centuries, mostly realist and figurative. The second shows the work of Martín Cuadrado himself, focused on realism and figuration, mainly in graphite pencil. Next to it is the artist’s studio and, across a courtyard, a room dedicated to his grandfather, the painter and archaeologist Juan Cuadrado, and to his mother, also a draughtswoman, bringing together three generations of artists.
According to its creator, it is a small, private, family museum and one of the few devoted exclusively to drawing. It aims to open for selective visits and also to serve educational and therapeutic activities. In 2026 guided visits for groups have been organised.
