About the museum
The recreation of the Argaric settlement of Antas reproduces Bronze Age dwellings and shows the daily life of the El Argar culture, which developed more than 4,000 years ago. It is located in the surroundings of the El Argar archaeological site, in Antas (Almería), and the project was funded by European funds and by the Junta de Andalucía through the Grupo de Desarrollo Rural del Levante Almeriense y del Almanzora.
The guided route explains the funerary practices and grinding workshops of the Argaric culture. The settlement is complemented by the Centro de Interpretación de la Cultura Argárica (Interpretation Centre of the Argaric Culture), and every August it hosts the Recreación del Argar, a day of historical re-enactment.
