About the museum
The Casa Museo del Pescador is on Calle Las Lonjas, next to the harbour of Puerto de la Cruz, and is run by the Cofradía de Pescadores Gran Poder de Dios (Fishermen's Guild of the Great Power of God), founded by a group of fishermen more than forty years ago. The museum invites visitors to learn about the history and memories of the town's fishing community.
Its exhibition focuses on vessels considered representative of seafaring life, among them a traditional passenger boat, cargo ships such as the MSC Eleonora, the Darro and the OPDR Canarias, the rescue and pollution-response vessel Guardamar Talía, and the battleship Bismarck. The guild's website also includes photo galleries of ships and exhibitions.
