About the museum
The museum is in the former spinning mill Hilados Manuel Revert Nadal, in the centre of Ontinyent, a city with a long textile tradition. It is run by the Fundación Museo del Textil de la Comunitat Valenciana, founded in 2000 to study, conserve and disseminate the heritage of textile activity.
The exhibition brings together some seventy pieces, from the 18th and 19th centuries to the present day, which tell the craft processes of textile production, with special attention to elements specific to Ontinyent. It is organised into four rooms: instruments, processing, fabrics and an audiovisual room on the textile industry of the Valencian Community. The pieces come from the ATEVAL collection, from Caixa Ontinyent and from the collection of Rafael Ferrero y Terol.
