About the museum
The Museu Etnològic Comarcal de la Vall d'Albaida is devoted to the traditional and popular culture of the region. Over time the original exhibition space had become outdated, so the Museu Valencià d'Etnologia coordinated its refurbishment at the request of the Mancomunitat de la Vall d'Albaida.
The renovation expanded the thematic areas, aimed to show the variety of the collection, connect the past with the present and invite visitors to discover other museums in the region. The museum presents itself as a starting point for exploring the Vall d'Albaida as a territory with its own identity, beyond the sum of its villages.
The route is organised into six areas and includes, among other pieces, a notable set of ceramic water containers.
Highlights
- Six thematic areas on the traditional life of the region
- The lived territory: livestock farming, transport, communications and the snow trade
- Time for festivity, time for work
- Water: well, bench and ceramic containers
- Tribute to the people who assembled the first collections
Permanent exhibition
- Exposición permanente en seis áreas – The route covers the lived territory, festivity and work, the transformation of raw materials, food and drink, water in the home and the history of the museum itself.
