About the museum
The Museu Faller de Gandia is an ethnographic and interactive museum devoted to the Fallas, a festival declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. It is also described as an interpretation centre for the festival, presenting its richness, creativity and festive character briefly but intensely. It is part of the Red de Museos de la Comunidad Valenciana and of ICOM.
The exhibition shows the process of creating a falla and the craft of the falla artist. It is complemented by falla costume and accessories, the mascletà and fireworks, traditional Valencian music and the meaning of fire. Among the exhibits are large-format ninots indultats.
In addition to the visit, the museum runs educational workshops in which participants design and build their own falla, and hosts cultural activities such as theatre, concerts and monologues, as well as temporary exhibitions on traditional culture, photography and the visual arts.
