About the museum
The Museo Municipal de Siete Aguas is a small museum collection presenting palaeontological material from the municipal area, a sample of the important fossil sites in the territory. The display gives priority to local information over general information and provides documentation on the chronological and stratigraphic position of the pieces.
The grave goods from the Covacha Botia, from an excavation by the Prehistoric Research Service of the Diputación Provincial (provincial council), are also on show, as are Bronze Age materials from several settlements in the municipal area, including hand querns. The Iberian period occupies two display cases and a panel, among them one on the Burgal Iberian inscription and a rotary quern. The querns are designed so that visitors, especially schoolchildren, can handle them. According to the tourist information sheet, the collection also includes remains from the Neolithic and Roman periods.
