About the museum
The Museo PRASA occupies the Posada del Moro, on Calle del Mudo. It is a building of seigneurial origin which, according to local sources, became an inn (posada) in more recent times, and whose name comes from the nickname of one of the families who lived there. Its granite doorway in Renaissance style, dating from around the mid-16th century, and a courtyard with a colonnaded porch stand out.
The collection brings together archaeological pieces, paintings, sculptures and domestic objects, along with numerous remains from earlier periods recovered in the comarca. It was assembled by the house's former owner, Esteban Márquez Triguero, and today belongs to the company PRASA.
The museum is temporarily closed to the public for rehabilitation works, and no reopening date has been published.
