About the museum
Åse lime museum is next to Jogården in the village of Åse, along the E14, in Krokom Municipality in Jämtland. The museum tells the story of the limestone in the region and how people have made use of it.
In the exhibition Välsignade kalk, visitors can follow the whole process: how the lime was formed, why it is found in the region and what significance it has had for both nature and the local economy. The exhibition also covers the production of lime in Åse and its pre-industrial and industrial production between 1870 and 1961.
The same village also has a tractor museum. The activities are run by the volunteers of the local community within Åse–Trång.
