About the museum
Ängelholms Hembygdspark lies on a wooded hill on the outskirts of central Ängelholm and is mainly run by Ängelholms Hembygdsförening (Ängelholm local heritage society). The museums are run entirely by the association. The park is a mixture of adventure, animal and museum park, with a playground, walking paths, rest and picnic spots, a restaurant and an ice-cream bar.
Among the buildings is Luntertunstugan, a fully equipped farm originally built in 1673 that has stood in the park since 1935, and Grönvallska Gården, the house of the leather manufacturer Ludvig Grönvall from 1817, which was moved into the park in 1936–1937 and is furnished as a dwelling house. The Tekniska museet shows old machines, workshop equipment, bicycles, motorcycles and cars from different periods, including an Oldsmobile from 1899 that is said to be Sweden’s oldest car.
The Skolmuseet (school museum) has an old classroom with teaching materials from the region’s schools and a large collection of class photographs. The Läder- och lokalhistoriska museet (leather and local history museum) shows machines for leather production, a workshop for slippers and exhibitions on the history of Ängelholm. In the park’s animal enclosures there are, among others, horses, goats, rabbits and roe deer.
