About the museum
Astrid Lindgren lived in the flat at Dalagatan 46 in Stockholm for more than sixty years. After her death the family preserved the four rooms exactly as they looked when she lived and worked there.
Since autumn 2015 the Astrid Lindgren-sällskapet (Astrid Lindgren Society) has been responsible for the tours of the home. The society was formed in 2002 in Vimmerby, a few months after Astrid Lindgren's death, and now has its seat in Stockholm. The tours are led by guides whom the society has trained.
The visit takes about an hour and takes place in small groups. Outdoor shoes may not be worn in the flat, so plastic overshoes are available to borrow. For those who cannot come, there is also a virtual visit in 360 degrees, photographed by Jann Lipka.
