About the museum
Björneborg local heritage society was founded in 1986, when a collection of old objects from the estate of Erling Lindberg was donated to the society. The collection became the basis of the homestead museum, and the society's aim is to preserve the objects and show them to interested visitors.
The museum is today on the upper floor of the historic works farm in Björneborg, an old building known as Björneborgs hembygdsgård. Here there are objects from households, industry and agriculture, as well as older school items that tell of life in the ironworks community.
The museum is only open for special events. Those who wish to see the collections at other times can contact the local heritage society for a guided visit.
