About the museum
Brunnsmuseet works to preserve and tell the story of the cultural heritage of Sätra Brunn, an old spa and health spring in Sala Municipality. Since 2014, with a break during the pandemic years 2020–2021, the museum has shown a large summer exhibition in Henschens badhus from May to September, when the spring traditionally received patients.
The museum's collections consist of a large number of pictures from different parts of the spring's history, and some of them have been published in a digital collection system. The museum has also digitised and republished literature about Sätra Brunn, and it is behind the audio walk Brunnsplatser (Spring Places), which tells of twelve historic places in the area.
In addition to the summer exhibition, the museum shows a smaller exhibition in Mellantorpet about how spa guests could live in the 1980s. Each year the museum takes part with its own programme items during Cultural Heritage Day (Kulturarvsdagen) in September.
