About the museum

Ekenäs slott sits on a cliff at the northern end of Lake Teden in Örtomta parish. The castle has high white walls, steep roofs and a gateway vault guarded by two corner towers with Baroque caps (barockhuvar), and two wings were added in the 18th century. It is considered one of Sweden's best-preserved castles from the 17th century.

Today Ekenäs is a privately owned museum. The castle is not open to the public for self-guided visits but is shown on guided tours. In the castle park, which is open every day, events include knight tournaments (riddarspel), a Christmas market and ghost walks.
