About the museum
Flackarps mölla is a holländare, that is, a windmill of the Dutch type, located in the eastern part of Flackarp in Staffanstorp Municipality, close to the border with Lund Municipality. The mill was built in 1868 and was in operation until 1950. It lies close to the burial ground by Sankt Lars hospital on the other side of the municipal border.
Since 1959 the mill has been owned by Föreningen Skånska Möllor (the Skåne Mills Association), which was formed in Lund in 1956 to preserve older mills in Skåne. The association holds open-house days a few times a year, including on Möllornas Dag (Mills' Day) on the first Sunday in July. The mill's sails were replaced with new ones in April 2013.
