About the museum
Gnarps brandmuseum is located at Gnarps hembygdsgård (homestead museum) on Bersberget, in the middle of Gnarp. The museum is housed in an old fire station from the early 20th century and is run by Gnarps hembygds- och fornminnesförening (Gnarp Local Heritage and Antiquities Association). Among the objects is an old fire engine.
The homestead museum is owned and managed by the association, which was founded in 1925. Since the 1940s it has bought, and received as donations, buildings and objects to preserve the cultural heritage of the district. At the farmstead visitors can see tools for trade and farming, fishing gear, textiles, and personal and themed exhibitions.
The association organises courses, theme days, Midsummer celebrations, historical excursions and markets, and the farmstead can be rented for parties and other gatherings.
