About the museum
Häljarps mölla is a stub mill, where the mill body is turned around a massive oak stub. It was built in 1784 on the initiative of Captain Samuel Rudolf von Quillfeldt and stands on an ancient burial mound in the open plain south-east of Landskrona. It is one of about twenty stub mills that remain in Skåne and one of the province's few surviving windmills from the 18th century, with its milling machinery intact.
In the late 1930s the mill was nearly burnt down during a film shoot with the actor Edvard Persson, but Rönneberga härads hembygdsförening (Rönneberga hundred local heritage association) managed to get the film company to choose another mill. The mill was in operation into the 1940s, and the heritage association bought it in the early 1950s. After several renovations, including a new axle, new sails and a new roof of oak shingles, the mill was reinaugurated in 1980. It is a listed building.
