About the museum
The forge in Asmundtorp was built in 1910–1911 by master smith Karl Adolf Lindqvist. He ran the forge from 1911 to 1955 and retired only at the age of 88. His youngest son Frans took over after him and ran the business until his retirement in 1979.
Rönnebergs Härads Hembygdsförening (Rönneberg Hundred Local Heritage Association) received the forge as a gift in 1996. A condition of the gift was that the association should have the forge ready for visits within two years. The forge is very well equipped, and some training in the smithing trade takes place in it, with two groups of three to four people once a week.
