About the museum
Hasse & Tage-museet is located in one of two brick houses by an old pedestrian underpass beneath the railway in central Tomelilla. The tunnel was built around 1920 but lost its importance when rail traffic decreased and was filled in, and the two tunnel houses were subjected to vandalism. The architect Per-Olof Kippel bought the houses from the municipality and opened a bar in one of them in 2004.
Hasse Alfredson had previously offered the municipality fixtures and props from Filmgården in Sälshög. He thought the other tunnel house was perfect for a museum and persuaded Kippel to make it available. Alfredson himself sketched how the museum would look, and it opened on 1 July 2006.
For the first five years the museum was run by Tomelilla Municipality, and since 2011 its operation has been managed by the association Hasse & Tage-museets vänner (Friends of the Hasse & Tage Museum). In just 17 square metres, almost fifty years of production by Hasse Alfredson and Tage Danielsson are shown. Films are shown on thirteen monitors, and in cupboards, drawers and display cases there are props, manuscripts and other objects from films, revues, sketches and monologues.
