About the museum
Hörby museum has collected local history since it opened in 1972. The museum preserves objects, photographs and stories about Hörby and the area around Lake Ringsjön in central Skåne.
The collection comprises about 8,000 objects, of which around 1,500 are shown in the permanent exhibitions. The picture archive contains about 3,000 photographs, among them some of the oldest pictures of Hörby. The museum is working to digitise the collection so that it can be searched online in the catalogue SOFIE.
The museum has recently been rebuilt to improve accessibility. It also has a culture trail in Karnas backe with seven signs, and a walk through central Hörby where ten electricity cabinets have been fitted with historical photographs and QR codes that lead to short films.
