About the museum
The Kamera- och Galgmuseum is located in Rättaregården in Holje park in Olofström. Here cameras, projectors and other photographic equipment from the late 19th century to the present are shown, so that visitors can look for their first camera among the objects.
The Galgmuseet (hanger museum) is described as the world's only hanger museum. It follows the history of the clothes hanger from the late 19th century. Today the hanger is one of the most common everyday objects in Swedish homes, and the museum reflects people's need for renewal but also the hanger as an advertising medium, with design, patents and more. The museum also has puzzling objects where visitors can guess what they are and what they were used for.
On National Day a World Championship in hanger throwing (galgkastning) is held at the museum.
