About the museum
Kyrkhults hembygdsmuseum (Kyrkhult Local Heritage Museum) is run by Kyrkhults hembygdsförening (Kyrkhult Local Heritage Society) and is located in Tulseboda spa park (brunnspark) in Kyrkhult, north of Olofström. The museum consists of three buildings: Läkarvillan (the Doctor's Villa), an annex to Tulseboda Brunn (Tulseboda Spa) built in 1898 as a residence and consulting room for the spa doctor, a spacious annex built in 2019, and a boatswain's croft (båtsmanstorp).
The exhibitions reflect the spa era at Tulseboda Brunn, the association's activities and the history of the district. In the annex several of the town's earlier industries are shown, among them Osby-Pannan's manufacture of refrigerators, freezers and washing machines in Vilshult, and Ebbamåla Gjuteri (Ebbamåla Foundry) and Mekaniska verkstad (Mechanical Workshop). There is also an exhibition on Kyrkhults Sparbank (Kyrkhult Savings Bank), which existed for just over a hundred years, and on Kyrkhults former municipality. In Läkarvillan, among other things, crafts, the history of the spa and a collection of figurines by the sculptor Carl Eldh are shown.
