About the museum
Kulturladan is a rural museum in the middle of Värmlandsnäs, right by Ölserud mill in Säffle municipality. The museum is run by Södra Näsets Byalag (village association) and aims to bring the district's cultural heritage to life. The project has been carried out with support from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and Leader, and with co-financing from the Church of Sweden, and it rests to a large extent on voluntary work.
The collections show agricultural implements that reflect the development of the countryside from earlier times to today's highly mechanised farming and forestry. There are also objects and memories from the skippers of the sailing cargo ships (skutor), fishermen, country shopkeepers and other trades in the district.
In the adjoining Ölseruds kvarn (Ölserud mill), which has been restored, the district's grain is ground into flour. The flour is used in the traditional farmhouse kitchen to bake tunnbröd (thin flatbread) in the old-fashioned way, and at the summer café open sandwiches are served on the bread. The Storstugan with bread oven can be hired by private individuals and associations.

From Säffle centre along road 537 towards Ekenäs on Värmlandsnäs, then signposted towards Ölserud.
