About the museum
Lilla Enebacken is one of the buildings at Enebacken in Osby, a farm from the 1830s that was formerly a crown bailiff's farm (kronofogdegård). It got its name from the crown bailiff Eneroth, who owned it from 1874 to 1904. In 1980 the farm was bequeathed to Osby hembygdsförening (Osby Local Heritage Society) by the headmasters Emil and Ester Arfwedsson, and it is today run by Stiftelsen Ester och Emil Arfwedssons minnesgård Enebacken (Ester and Emil Arfwedsson Memorial Farm Enebacken Foundation).
Lilla Enebacken has been a tenant's dwelling and a crown bailiff's office with arrest rooms. At the beginning of the 20th century Albert Svensson started a small bakery in the house, which grew and became the well-known bakery company Osbybagaren.
Today the building houses one of the local heritage society's museums. There is a scythe collection with scythes forged by the district's well-known scythe-smiths, a textile collection including parts of folk costumes, and a school museum that was inaugurated in 2013. On the farm there is also the association's carriage museum, which was inaugurated in 2007.
