About the museum

Färs Härads hembygdsförening (Färs Hundred local heritage association) bought in 1996 a fully enclosed Skåne farmstead with farm tools, furniture and textiles that had never before been shown to the public. Here the life's work of two women is preserved: the sisters Anna (1892–1953) and Hanna Jönsson (1896–1985), who were born on the farm and never married. The farm comprises 25 hectares of forest and pasture.

Hanna lived on the farm until 1985, without electricity or running water, and everything shown in the museum was there when she died. The collection includes, among other things, two sofas and 24 chairs upholstered in flame-weave textiles in strong colours, a linen cupboard full of embroidered linen, and home-woven curtains and rugs. The textiles originate from the so-called gästgivardöttrarna (innkeepers' daughters) of Everlöv, whose weavings from the 1700s are in museums across the country.

The dwelling also displays old furniture that has been on the farm since the 1700s and 1800s, including two stone tables from 1845 made of Komstad limestone and two sättugnar. There are also rölakan, ågedynor, tablecloths, bonader and skirts.
