About the museum
Misterhults hembygdsförening (Misterhult Local Heritage Society) has its local heritage park in Misterhult, where visitors can come at any time to sit down with their own coffee and enjoy the surroundings. In the park stand, among others, Grönöstugan, which shows how people on the islands lived and dwelt in the 19th century, and Hasselbacksstugan.
Both cottages were renovated in 2018 with grants from the county administrative board, the rural development programme and the Håkansson fund (Håkanssonska fonden). The association used traditional materials such as linseed-oil paint, tar, boiled slurry paint and single-pantile roofing (enkupigt tegeltak). Every year a Midsummer festival is held on Midsummer Eve, and a local heritage festival in the park with coffee service, entertainment and raffles.
