About the museum
Kristdala hembygdsförening (Kristdala Local Heritage Society) was formed on 6 February 1927 at the initiative of the newly appointed dean (prost) Erik Meurling. The association wanted to protect distinctive natural objects and ancient monuments, preserve old buildings and household utensils, and record legends and stories about the cultivation of the district, remarkable people and events.
Visitors see the association’s buildings and collections on guided visits. Among the topics covered are a ceiling painting in an attic storehouse, a collection of coffee pots and the parish priests during the 18th to the 20th centuries. The homestead museum lies near the Hummeln meteorite lake.
