About the museum
Mörlunda-Tveta hembygdsförening (Mörlunda-Tveta Local Heritage Society) was formed in 1963. The association has its local heritage park Blåbärskullen by the school in Mörlunda, with fifteen buildings, and an office at Stationsvägen 2. The association’s picture archive contains about 100,000 files. The parishes of Mörlunda and Tveta are old districts that were inhabited as early as the Stone Age, and Mörlunda was formerly a municipality of its own before the greater municipality of Hultsfred was formed in 1970.
Traditionally, Walpurgis Night (valborgsmässoafton) and Midsummer Eve are celebrated in the local heritage park. On the association’s Discovery Day (upptäckardag) everything is open for visits. Storytelling evenings are held in autumn and spring at Lundagården, and a Christmas market is held every year. Ångans Dag, when the association’s steam sawmill is the centre of attention, is a new and major day in the activities.
