About the museum
Nacka hembygdsmuseum (local heritage museum) is located in Nyckelviken in Nacka and is run by Nacka Municipality. The museum shows what life could be like for a crofter or farmer in the 19th century and tells the story of Nacka’s earliest history.
The exhibitions include objects used on crofts and farms, and visitors can learn about the shoemaker’s craft and about textile production for home use. A schoolroom shows what a classroom could look like more than a hundred years ago. There is also a room with furniture and objects from Nackanäs värdshus (Nackanäs inn), which burned down in 1960.
Near the museum the summer pavilion from 1746 has been preserved, and in Nyckelviken events are held, among them Easter celebrations and a large Midsummer celebration. On some Sundays a free guided tour of Nyckelviken manor (Nyckelvikens herrgård) starts from the museum. Some of the objects can be read about on Digitalt museum.
