About the museum
Naturum Abisko lies inside Abisko National Park, right next to Abisko Turiststation by both the road and the railway, and is run by the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten (Länsstyrelsen Norrbotten). It works as a visitor centre with nature guides, exhibitions, a film and lecture hall, and a reception with a shop.
The core exhibition is about the national park as a landscape in change. It shows how the habitats of plants and animals are affected by a changing climate, and highlights the sensitive ecosystems of the mountain region as well as the park's geology, flora and fauna. The naturum also has a library, a children's activity corner and a shop. Upstairs is the Galleriet (gallery) for temporary exhibitions, slideshows and lectures. In summer, guided tours and other activities are offered.

Abisko Turist railway station is inside the national park, where you get off to visit naturum. Daily train connections to Kiruna and Narvik.
