About the museum
Naturum Skrylle is the gateway to nature in the Skrylle area, a large outdoor recreation area between Dalby and Södra Sandby made up of several interconnected nature reserves bordering Dalby Söderskog National Park. Naturum opened in 1991 and is run by Lund Municipality.
In February 2024 a new, larger building opened at Skryllegården with a new exhibition. The common thread is movement, from the movements of the Earth's crust when the Romeleås ridge (Romeleåsen) was formed to the movements of people, plants and animals and how they affect one another. The exhibition tells the story of the area's plants, birds, insects and animals, as well as its cultural history, folk belief and geology.
Naturum is staffed by nature guides who show the way into the area, guide groups and school classes, and host study visits. Outdoors there is a 50-metre-long tactile trail edged with ropes and with carved wooden animals, and a programme of mostly free activities runs through the year.
