About the museum
Slite industrimuseum is housed in a residential building on Skolgatan in Slite and shows older historical material from the cement works' history of more than a century. The museum is run by former employees of the factory, who wish to preserve the memory of everyone who worked there and built up Slite as a good place to live.
The cement works in Slite has been one of Gotland's largest employers, and the Slite factory still produces the majority of the cement used in Sweden. The museum complements the picture of the factory's and the community's development with objects, documents and stories.
Visits outside regular opening hours can be booked by telephone.
