About the museum
The Museum local in Vnà, a mountain village on a terrace above the Lower Engadine, opened in 1978. It is housed in the old schoolhouse at the bottom of the village and documents how people in this village used to live and work.
The collection now comprises more than 400 objects. These include equipment for farming, butchering, bread baking and the kitchen, tools for processing flax and wool and for woodworking, an old fire pump, documents and photographs. The collection is supplemented by works by various artists.
In summer the museum is open on Sunday afternoons; other visits are possible by arrangement. Visitors who are in the village can combine their visit with a short walk on Vnà's walk-in dictionary.
