About the museum
The visitor centre “Velike zvijeri” is located in Stara Sušica in the municipality of Ravna Gora. It was built as a project of the public institution “Priroda” with co-financing from the European Union; the partners were the Municipality of Ravna Gora and the Tourist Board of Gorski kotar.
The multimedia exhibition takes visitors into a forest environment and introduces the bear, the wolf and the lynx, three large carnivores that live in Gorski kotar. Alongside classic museum methods of modelling and painting, 3D printing and computer programs are also used. The changing seasons reveal the hidden world of these animals.
The centre is intended for individual visitors and groups, and also offers themed workshops and a hall that can be hired.
