About the museum
The Muzej antičkog stakla in Zadar opened on 5 May 2009 in the restored 19th-century Cosmacendi Palace on Poljana Zemaljskog odbora. Its collection comprises ancient glass, mostly finds from archaeological sites in the Zadar area, as well as medieval and early modern glass.
The museum has its own workshop for restoring glass objects, which treats items from the collection, objects on display and glass belonging to outside clients. It regularly prepares touring exhibitions and works with museums in Croatia and abroad; in 2025 it lent objects to exhibitions in Austria and Slovenia.
The museum offers guided tours in Croatian and English, educational workshops for children and schools, and the programme “Obiteljski vikend u MAS-u” (Family Weekend at MAS). The museum shop sells tickets and souvenirs. According to the museum’s report, it had 67,957 visitors in 2025.
