About the museum
The museum is housed in the cloister of the Dominican monastery in Dubrovnik. Its collection includes the main works of the Dubrovnik school of painting from the 15th and 16th centuries, among them panel paintings and canvases by Nikola Božidarević, Mihajlo Hamzić and Lovro Dobričević, as well as votive jewellery, relics, manuscripts, incunabula, valuable documents and papal bulls.
Among the exhibits are an icon of the Virgin and Child and the recently restored Titian painting of St Blaise, Mary Magdalene and the Angel Raphael. The large 14th-century Crucifix by Paolo Venezijan is in the church of St Dominic, not in the museum.
