About the museum
The Muzejsko-memorijalni centar (Museum and Memorial Centre) was ceremonially opened on 7 June 2006. It was created through the joint efforts of the Zaklada Dražena Petrovića (Dražen Petrović Foundation), the Vlada Republike Hrvatske (Government of the Republic of Croatia), the Grad Zagreb (City of Zagreb) and the Hrvatski športski muzej (Croatian Sports Museum). The idea came from Dražen's parents, Biserka and Jole Petrović, and it was designed by the architects Andrija Rusan and Ante Nikša Bilić.
For more than twelve years the centre was a private museum run by the Dražen Petrović Foundation, which was led by the family. With the transfer of founding rights in 2017 it became the tenth city museum of the City of Zagreb, and since April 2025 it has been part of the Hrvatski športski muzej.
The display follows Petrović's playing career through the clubs and national teams he played for: Šibenka, Cibona, Real Madrid and the NBA. The admission price includes a screening of a ten-minute documentary film.
