About the museum
The museum is housed in a storeyed Umgebinde house (podstávkový dům) from the second half of the 18th century in the Frýdlant Protrusion (Frýdlantský výběžek). The house was reconstructed in 2012, and the civic association Kolovrat set up an exhibition there on traditional rural life, crafts and farming.
Visitors can see a collection of old radios, wooden washing machines and irons, a hand-cranked gramophone and a furnished shoemaker’s workshop. Also on display are unused farm tools, sledges, skis and toys. The exhibition is complemented by a school classroom from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries with period benches and slate boards, and by a black kitchen with a working bread oven. On request, the owner of the house will show visitors around and explain the construction of the building.
