About the museum
The Rebala keskus-muuseum presents the prehistoric everyday life and burial customs of the Rebala heritage protection area and gives an overview of ancient times. The museum shares information on the heritage and sights of the region; local handicrafts, souvenirs and printed matter can be bought there, and craft workshops can be attended.
Within the heritage protection area there are several villages that are thousands of years old and more than 300 archaeological monuments dating back to the Neolithic. Next to the museum is a restored cemetery with 36 Bronze Age stone-cist cairns (8th–7th century BC). Nearby are the Kostivere karst area and the Jõelähtme Neitsi Maarja church.
