About the museum
Seven buildings of the open-air museum have been moved to the site from different parts of Elimäki. The area has an old peasant house, a luhti barn, a small barn, a smoke sauna, a smithy, a shop storehouse and a threshing barn with a horse gin. The area’s speciality is the so-called mamsellimylly (mamsell mill), a windmill that originally belonged to Mustila manor and has stood on its present site at Höyhensaari for over 40 years. The museum is maintained by the support association Elimäen kotiseutumuseon kannatusyhdistys ry.
