About the museum
When the local heritage museum was well received, the Eurajoen kotiseutuyhdistys began collecting agricultural objects too. Tractors, agricultural machinery and tools for farming and livestock were received as donations. The museum hall was built by volunteer work on the municipal plot near the local heritage museum, and the first part was completed in 1984.
The hall has been extended twice: first with an additional section that was given an upper floor, and later a second addition was completed at the north gable. It received a meeting room and the Munakari room, which is named after the Suominen brothers, Aarne and Martti Suominen, who lived in Olkiluoto. The room was opened in 1989.
The museum has about 1,200 objects. On display are, among other things, a wood-gas tractor, a steam engine, a horse gin, a combined seed drill and various threshing machines, a smithy and objects related to forestry. Upstairs are the fishing and beekeeping sections and dairy-farming objects. The premises are kept cold in winter.
