About the museum
The founder of the taxidermy studio, agronomist Leopold G. Hägg, began stuffing animals at the age of 12 under the guidance of an old forester. He moved to the village of Urajärvi in Asikkala in 1915; his full-time occupations were farming and the sale of agricultural machinery. After working as an amateur for about 20 years, he moved his activity from home to his own studio in 1929. The museum displays period material from the early 20th century, stuffed animals and written material.
