About the museum
The collection of the Kemijärvi snowmobile and sawmill museum includes snowmobiles from past decades up to the present day, mainly from the 1960s and 1970s. On display are several makes, including Ski-doo, Evinrude, Winha, Lynx, Polaris and Yamaha, as well as rarities.
The second collection consists of chainsaws: there are almost 400 models, and the collection also includes a pokasaha and motorised tree-felling equipment. The museum tells the story of the development of snowmobiles and the competitive history of snowmobiling.
The museum is backed by Kemijärven Moottorikerho ry (Kemijärvi Motor Club), founded in 1975, whose main focus is snowmobile racing in winter and summer.
