About the museum
The Lotsstugan in Degerby was built in 1850, and a tower was added in 1888. The pilot station was in use until 1968. Degerby was for a long time one of Åland’s most important harbours.
Today the cottage is furnished with objects from earlier times and shows how pilot work functioned during the 20th century. It lies on the road towards Restaurang Seagram, a short distance from Föglömuseet.
