About the museum
The Luvian kotiseutumuseo was founded in 1969 on the Lehti farm, which was received from Anna Homer, and opened to the public in 1975. The museum is maintained and developed by the Kotiseutuyhdistys Luvia Seor ry local heritage association, which began its activities in 1952.
In the old main building of the museum area are the main room (tupa), a chamber (kamari) and a sailor’s room. The storehouse, moved to its present site in 1969, has a changing exhibition on the ground floor and a permanent exhibition on the upper floor. The Fällpuar shore boathouse was moved from Sassila in 1981 and contains objects related to fishing. The Kaluliiteri barn, completed in 1985, houses an exhibition of farming implements from the self-sufficiency period.
The museum has an eMuseo mobile guide that helps visitors explore the museum. In summer the association organises the Luvia Day and other events at the museum.
