About the museum
In 1960 the Pihtipudas-Seura bought an old grain storehouse from the Pihtiputaan manttaalikunta (rural municipality) to serve as a local heritage museum. The museum opened to the public a few years after the purchase. It is located right in the centre of the church village, in the immediate vicinity of the church.
The museum’s collection includes some 900 objects that tell the local history of Pihtipudas.
